Road Book and GPS Navigation Training
introduction to road book and GPS Navigation Techniques
To get the most from your Roadbook navigation rallies you will require sound roadbook and GPS navigation skills. We can lend you roadbook holders to use with your phone and F2r Tripmeter or Rallyblitz apps if you don’t yet have the kit.
The first hour of the day will be spent in the “classroom” with complimentary tea and coffee, going over the basics. Then it’s loading your first 18km roadbook and riding it offroad round Sweetlamb accompanied by instructors. Everyone makes mistakes, we step in to give you reassurance and confidence, or reminders of some of the basics you forgot to take on!
Then lunch and some more strategies and theory, before marking up a 75km loop using Sweetlamb and excellent local trails. Again this is accompanied by an instructor to help out with issues and your technique. Learn how and why you make mistakes to allow you to learn.
So if you’re thinking of going into navigation rallies here and, abroad this is an ideal starting point.
Or if you’re more confident we have longer 200km practice roadbooks for you to hone your skills with.

New Sweet Lamb Bunk House Facilities
We have graded paddocks at 2 sites, with garages and a club room (with tea and coffee facilities) at the main centre. There are real toilets (!) and a dry, warm changing area for the wet times (not uncommon here in Wales). We even have a Barbeque/Fire pit and access to a Mobile Home if you fancy staying around!
Home to the Wales Rally GB for many years and before that the Lombard RAC Rally, Sweet Lamb Rally Complex is located in the picturesque county of Powys Mid Wales.
